Family Compassionately and Attentively Rendering Evidence-based practices (CARE)

The goal of Family CARE is to provide parents of children with autism spectrum disorder with high-quality training and support to deliver evidence-based practices for their child. Family CARE trains parents how to seamlessly weave evidence-based practices into daily routines. Parents begin by attending an in-person or virtual training. After the training, families can choose to participate in one of two formats of ongoing support provided by Family CARE therapists that best meet their needs: small group meetings or one-on-one coaching. Our goal is to ensure families can maintain newly acquired skills into their daily lives with minimal effort so that their child(ren) make meaningful gains on individualized goals.

This program serves families residing in Texas.

Parent Training:

• 3-4 hour parent training on the following topics:
  • Setting Up Your Child for Success
  • Making a Plan
  • Helping Your Child
  • Show Your Child How
  • Incorporate Teaching into Your Routines
  • Encouraging Your Child
• Training provided in-person and virtually!
• FREE for all Texas families!
• Families who complete the training will receive a $40 Amazon gift card!

Parent Coaching:

• Family CARE therapists help your family incorporate the newly acquired skills into your daily routines.
• All coaching delivered virtually via videoconference telehealth.
• Cellular tablets will be loaned to families who wish to use them for participation.
• FREE for all Texas families!
• Short Term One-on-One Coaching
  • 4 to 6 meetings with a parent coach 
  • Approximate Duration: 1 month
  • Families work on 1 goal for their child 
  • $50 gift card provided at completion
